Brunch at The Albert

I tried the brunch at The Albert Pub in Kingston and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Nowadays pubs are getting more and more like restaurants regarding the quality of the food and thats a good thing.

Back to my brunch. They offer a simple menu which I prefer as when there are loads of choices I just can’t decide.

I tried the Full English which included fried eggs, smoked bacon, Lincolnshire sausage, mushrooms, backed beans, vine tomatoes and toast. As you can see it was a plate full. The photo does not do it justice.

I surprised myself by eating the sausage as I’m not normally that keen on them but it was so full of flavour and I enjoyed it. The bacon was delicious, lean and moorish! Eggs were perfectly cooked with yokes runny and whites firm. The large flat mushroom made a change from button mushrooms. Tomatoes were juicy and the baked beans were of a good quality not very runny. The toast was a square thick white but not toasted enough for me but even so was very enjoyable.

Overall a very delightful brunch served by helpful and friendly staff. I will visit again as The Albert has a great atmosphere about it as well as good food. Next time I’m going to try the smashed avocado with poached eggs. My mouth is watering at the thought of it.

A lovely touch was the little flower pots on the tables.

Do you enjoy a brunch like I do? or did you have an evening meal?
