Notscutt Garden Centre in Staines, Middlesex truly is a hidden gem.
I have never been there before and my
mother in law took me there last week.
It really was something else. More like an aladdin’s cave with lots of interesting items as well as a restaurant. Definitely not like the gardens centres I remember.
As you walk through its more like a small department store that seemed to have most items on display from plants to homeware. The layout was very simple and just flowed round in a type of a big circle. It was light and airy and very easy to see all the displays. I particularly liked the colourful teapots. I can’t express how ridiculously excited I was walking around!!
We then went into the restaurant and wow that was a surprise as well. So clean, tidy and easily laid out. They has some yummy cakes which I did resist, but I think next time I will give in to temptation!
What was brilliant is you order the hot food and they serve to your table so there is no waiting about for it and no chance of it going cold before you sit down. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I went for Liver and bacon with mash and onion gravy. My mother in law had the Hunters Chicken with chips and salad. Honestly we both enjoyed them. They were large portions as well and reasonably priced.
They also have a fashion area selling, bags, scarfs and jewellery plus what I would call a pet shop. The rabbits were so cute. We stocked up on some treats and food for Chewie our chocolate Labrador.
My mother in law was telling me about her Privilege club card she got for £10 and throughout the year she gets some great benefits and savings. It meant we got our lunch cheaper because of it. I am so going back I loved this place and as I said at the beginning it a hidden gem!!
